Boulder Art Show
Over the weekend we attended the Art Festival on the Pearl Street Mall, in Boulder, Colorado. Boulder, home of the University of Colorado is a very sophisticated and well educated community. We saw every type art imaginable, plus acrobats, jugglers, and mimes. Kids playing in the fountain provided good entertainment, too.
The highlight for me was popping into the Boulder Bookstore which is located on the mall. Just curious about how Murder in the Rockies was doing..A pleasant surprise...they have sold eight copies and only have one copy left. In Boulder no less. Put that on my to do list: call the manager and suggest that I am available for an event.
It is the same old story: You can't get a job without experience and you can't get experience without a job. In book marketing you can't get an event until you have sold enough books to prove there is an interest in your book. Of course the best way to sell that many books is to have a book signing event.
Linkedin
For those who have not tried Linkedin, they have some discussion groups that might be of interest...Crime Fiction and Book Selling both of particular interest to me. It never hurts to listen to authors who have been there, and read aboutt their Thoughts and Opinions.
