Update
Bronco/Panther rematch. Don't expect a repeat Super Bowl. Both teams have new players. Broncos have a rookie quarterback and Panthers are trying out two new corner backs. Cam Newton has something to prove since the Broncos shined their shoes with his Superman cape. Broncos win if it is a low scoring game, but if it is a high scoring game the Panther will have to most high scores.

Jerusha Jones has come up with a peculiar title for book 2 in her Tin Can series of cozy mysteries, Silicon Waning. Eva Fairchild is reveling in the idyllic, if insular, setting of her adopted home at Marten’s Marina when a rash of newcomers triggers speculation and the not-so-latent nosy tendencies among the residents. Eva is appalled to learn that she’s acquired a surprising new persona along with her new location—since when does she get involved with other people’s problems? But Ancer Potts’ distress is not to be ignored. Everyone knows the absentminded genius needs friendly nudges now and then to get out of his shell, but Eva’s certain his current trouble extends beyond the realm of social awkwardness and preoccupied introversion. And that was before he disappeared.

Sage Grouse
The State of Nevada and the Department of Interior signed an agreement with Newmont Mining to provide more habitat for Sage Grouse. Sage Grouse numbers have decreased from an estimated 16 million to 200,000. Largely because of loss of habitat. Newmont has agreed to restrict grazing and development in exchange for credits in Nevada's credit system. Colorado will benefit by having Nevada Sage Grouse increase instead of having smaller numbers in Colorado and Utah being crowded into less and less space. Sage Grouse were not put of the endangered species list a private/public partnership was seen as superior.
