Butterfly Pavilion
Butterfly Pavilion is at the Center for Invertebrate Research and Conservation (CIRC) and will be a 60,000-square-foot, world-class research lab with an accredited zoological facility to serve as the preeminent local, national and global hub for invertebrate knowledge, conservation, inspiration and connection.
Last year over 60,000 learners visited BPs to benefit from on-sight and or classroom programs. Additionally BP is proud to lead research efforts to improve and increase conversation that have value for industry and residential property. In 2023 even greater numbers are anticipated.

Government inspectors found that beagles in a facility in Cumberland, Virginia. were being killed instead of receiving veterinary treatment for easily treated conditions. Nursing mother Beagles were not fed or were given food that had maggots, mold, or feces in it.
Not 40, not 400. but over 4,000 beagles were confiscated (rescued) from this facility by the U.S. Humane Society in partnership with the Federal Government. Information gathered from various animal testing sites has proven to be inaccurate or wrong. "Non-animal approaches have shown to be more reliable." said Kathleen Conlee, HSUS vice president of Animal Research.

Judge Norman Moon remarked that Beagle puppies remained in their enclosures as they were hosed down with cold water leaving them shivering." That is why they are afraid of running water.
Abby Avery, director of Adams County Shelter took in 45 rescued Beagles, noted that she knows why Beagles were selected as test subjects, "They are so forgitving. They are loyal to a fault. To watch them actually become dogs again, it is amazing."
