The Wyoming Game and Fish Department in charge of wildlife in Yellowstone has promoted the use of bear spray in Yellowstone to prevent bear attack in a non-lethal method. Using Bear Spray should save bear lives and human lives.

The Federal Wildlife Service took wolves off the list of protected species under the Endangered Species Act. Since then laws in many states have allowed for killing wolves in large numbers. In Idaho 85% and in Montana 90% of wolves can be legally killed by hunters. The Humane Society of the U.S. and other organizations are petitioning the Wildlife agency to put wolves back on the list. "This is what happens when unscientific state management is allowed," says Humane Society attorney Nicholas Arrivo. In Wisconsin hunters killed 218 wolves in less than three days. Some of those 218 were mothers whose pups likely died because they were not old enough to be on their own.
Killing wolf pups in their dens allows "hunters" to kill a whole bunch at one time.
The HSUS claims that wolves in Wisconsin and across the lower 48 haven't recovered from putting wolves off of the protected list and Humane Society is fighting in court to get wolves back on the list.

Boulder Humane Society or the Longmont Humane Society which are partnering with Boulder is the central place to bring pets who were stranded in the Marshall Fire, and to look for lost pets. Along with hundreds of families displaced, so were many animals displeased.
Another source of help, Soul Dog Rescue has saved over a dozen animals since the fire began on Thursday. December 30, Kelsey Stocks spent Sunday afternoon in Superior looking for any signs of life. She’s a veterinarian with the group Soul Dog Rescue. “We actually got the 11 guinea pigs that were in a house that had to be evacuated, so they were all alive and in good condition,” Stocks said.
