Named after nearby Long's Peak, Longmont is celebrating its 150th anniversary of its foundling with a year-long schedule of events. My Great-gandparents, the Herthas, were among the founders. The house where my Grandmother was born is designated as a Historic Home." They raised five daughters, including my Grandmother, in that house.
The population in 2020 was 95,000. The population when I lived there, school years1-12, was 10,000.
