Cabinet Wilderness, Montana
The Backers and Federal Agencies have lost litigation concerning a mining project in Montana's Cabinet Mountains.The proposed project would damage 400 acres of wilderness in public lands and drain streams. The results would lead to loss of grizzly bears and trout. and other wildlife.
Alaska Drilling
Alaska Tundra has been oil drillers favorite target for years. Climate Change is warming the tundra and permafrost which destabilizes the soil which makes drilling more difficult because of shifting land masses. ConocoPhillips proposes to refreeze the tundra permafrost and drill for the half a billion barrels of oil beneath the permafrost. There is no word on how the oil company plans to "refreeze" the tundra."
Washington State was looking for a way to depose of toxic firefighting form its firehouses. Shipping it out of state was one idea but burning the foam would release dangerous chemicals called PFAS that have been linked to cancer. That idea was scarped.

National Register
Some places to visit that most people don't know about. Colorado's oldest cemetery is Riverside Cemetery in Adams City, 5201 Brighton Blvd. Build in 1876, many of Colorado's pioneers are buried there. There are three Colorado Governors, John Evens, Samuel Elbert, John Routt are buried there. Other well known pioneers as Augusta Tabor, Barney Ford, are at rest there.
Riverside is one of the places a person can find in the National Register of Historic Places. Some others for example are Dinosaur Ridge in the Hogback near Morrison, Lamb Spring Archaeologic Preserve in Douglas County and John Brisben Walker's stone mansion and a home Walker hoped would be come a summer White House for Presidents.
