Think it is too hard? There are 50 states and the quiz only involved 10.
Football Dangerous?
When I sort-of-played high school football (In my school it was a social requirement), I weighed 155 lbs., and was 5' ll" tall, which was about average for a halfback. The linemen went at 160-175. (Our first year we practiced in leather helmets. In my second year they put a single bar on the leather helmet to be a face guard.)
My point is the professional football players routinely weigh at least twice as much as I did back in the day.
And I wasn't considered small. When two players crash together with that much weight and that much speed something has to go. Most often it is the knee or head. Concussions are more common then we realized until the last couple of decades.
A quick check of the NFL injury report after 2 games and 3 practice games, so far this season, yielded the following information. Keep in mind only "Out" means the player will not play this week. "Doubtful" was not counted. Some players were not counted but at the last minute will be held out. Other players will recover by the time this tally is conducted, so the numbers are only approximate.
After two games, 40 players are not fit to suit-up. Some will be out for the season. Some are career ending injuries. Yet the fans cheer, "Hit 'em again harder, harder."
