Jessica Watkins, Astronaut Jessica Watkins
An Astronaut from Lafayette, Colorado (a small town between Denver and Boulder) will join the next team of five other Astronauts for a six month long mission on the space station.
After graduating from Lafayette High School at the top of her class Jessica Watkins did her undergraduate degree at Stanford University. Watkins earned a doctorate in geology from the University of California, at Los Angeles.
Dr. Watkins has been assigned as a mission specialist on the crew of the next NASA mission. NASA has assigned astronaut Jessica Watkins to serve as a crew member for the Crew-4 mission. on the agency’s upcoming SpaceX Crew-4 mission, the fourth crew rotation flight of the Crew Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station.

The previous record for the latest first measurable snow fall in Denver was November 21,1934. The snow must be one inch deep to count as measurable. The lack of measurable snow has caused drought and
severe drought conditions exist through most of the State of Colorado.
Several ski areas have postponed their opening dates for as much as two weeks...lack of snow. Because of school vacations and family Thanksgiving trips, this time of year and the following weekend after Thanksgiving in particular is one of busiest periods at the areas. At ski towns the economy is going faster than a skier on the black diamond run.
