Colorado HockeyTeam History
The team was founded in 1972 as the Quebec Nordiques in the World Hockey Association. The franchise joined the NHL in 1979 as a result of the NHL–WHA merger and chiefly through the efforts of General Manager Pierre Lacroix, 1995–2006. The franchise was under the new ownership of COMSAT Entertainment Group. In 2000 The Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche teams were bought by Kroenke Sports and Entertainment and are owned by Kroenke.
The Nordiques changed their name to the Avalanche when they came to Colorado in 1996. The Avalanche won the Stanley Cup their first year in Denver, which tended to spoil some new hockey fans. With such players as -Adam Foote, Peter Forsberg, Jon Klemm, Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic and Stephane Yelle—who were members of both Cup-winning teams in 1996 and 2001, winning seemed easy.
Over the years the fans learned how difficult winning can be. The current General Manager, Joe Sakic, has put together a roster that is considered a contender with Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog, Mikko Rantanen.and goalie Philipp Grubauer.

Mountain Gardening Tips
The disadvantages
The best place to grow flowers is in a site that already supports some grass and wildflowers.
Soils
In general, it is beneficial to add organic matter to any type of mountain soil, although in poorly drained soils it is best to add some each year.
Plant Choice
Plants with smaller leaves will often require less water, and will also experience less damage from hail. In general, choose plants that are hardy to zones 2 to 4. Other factors include day length, source of plant material, recent temperature patterns, rapid temperature changes, soil moisture, and wind exposure.
These tips are for mountain gardening, 7,000 feet and higher, the same applies to lower high altitudes gardens at slighter lower elevations only less so. Denver is 5,280 feet.
