Happy New Year special edition

My Resolutions
I resolve...
I will publish my weekly blog by Monday morning and preferably by Sunday evening every week.
I will learn to use my new Christmas present Kindle before January 15.
I will use my new Kindle to obtain more books from my contemporary authors and read their books.
I will learn where the tools are that I need to change a tire on my new car (I've had it for 2 years) before I need them. That goes for all the other gadgets that I don't know how to operate and what they do.
I will not judge people solely by their religious and/or political beliefs. (There are many people who are perfectly decent folks even though they vote for the other party...so I'm told.)
Bowl Games
Now we have a playoff system where the top four college football teams compete to determine which is the best team in the nation. The four teams are selected by "experts" voting on which teams are the best four of the teams in the Championship series. What if some small college such as Podunk State could beat all of the traditional powerhouses but never has a chance to prove it? They won't be considered. In college basketball 64 teams are selected (by committee voting) to take part in the playoffs for the national championship. Yet, every year there are two or three teams that say there were robbed, they deserve to be in the playoffs. Are four teams enough for football to be fair?
Does the playoff system diminish the importance of the other Bowl games? Are the students of non-playoff teams going to consider their teams also rans? Why should colleges be in the entertainment business. I don't care which minor league baseball team wins the national championship of baseball. Why are so many people concerned about which minor league team is the national champion of college football?
