Thunder is the stage name for the horse who is the live animal mascot for the Denver Broncos. Three purebred Arabians have held this name, all gray horses whose coat has lightened to be completely white.
The most recent, "Thunder III," appeared at Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014. The first Thunder was a stallion whose registered name was JB Kobask. He was the mascot from 1993 until his retirement in 2004, and continued to make community appearances until his death in 2009. He was succeeded by the gelding Winter Solstyce, born in 1994, who took over as "Thunder II" in 2004 and still continues to perform. "Thunder III," whose registered name is Me N Myshadow, was the understudy to Thunder II, performed at preseason games in 2013 and made some of Thunder's other public appearances. Because he was younger than Thunder II and better able to handle being shipped by air to the east coast, he was the mascot selected to appear at MetLife Stadium for Super Bowl XLVIII and will be at 2016 Super Bowl 50.
Thunder's road trip to Santa Clara, CA has been delayed by a snow storm. Never fear, Thunder will be there at kickoff. The Super Bowl is supposed to be at a neutral site, so Thunder probably will not be allowed to run down the field each time the Broncos score. Be assured Thunder will make an appearance.

Book World
Dick Kreck, a retired writer for the Denver Post, has written a nonfiction history of a mystery. Murder in the Brown Palace does not need an introduction because most people have read it already (it seems like) and I am ashamed that I just got around to reading the book.
The details and the research that went into getting those details is amazing. It concerns a beautiful Mrs.Isabel Patterson Springer, and her two suitors Sylvester "Tony" von Phul (ironically, pronounced fool) and Frank Henwood a friend and business associate of Isabel's husband John W. Springer.
Kreck with the help of the Colorado Historical Society has supplied us with pictures of the principles. The pictures throughout the book do not distract from the story, but enrich it. The organization of the narrative could be confusing, Following a character through to the end and then going back to a point in time and following another character can be distracting. Kreck pulls it all together in a highly satisfying package. As I look back at the organization there would not be a better way or order of presenting the facts.
None of the plot is revealed here, not even who was murdered in the Brown Palace, Denver's most luxurious hotel, or details about the trial(s) that followed. It would be better for the reader to discover for themselves, and to make up their minds about innocence and guilt. It is a highly recommended read for history and mystery buffs.
