The World Cup Skiing moved to Semmering, Austria. Mikaela Shiffrin, from Vail, Colorado, stepped out of her comfort zone of the slalom into a ski disipline that is rapidly becoming familiar territory for her, Giant Slalom. Tuesday was her first GS win of the season. The win gave her enough points to extend her lead in the overall standings for the World Cup.

Mikaela Shiffrin won her second giant slalom of her career on Tuesday. On Wednesday she won her third GS at the World Cup competition at Semmering. The win extended Shiffrin's lead in the overall standings. On Thusday, there will be a slalom, Shiffrin's specialty.
Three wins in three days
The World Cup of Skiing in Semmering, Austria was a three day event. Two days of giant slalom and one day of slalom. Mikaela Shiffrin won her races in all three days. Shiffrin came from a .33 seconds deficit to win by .64 seconds. Proving what a hundredth of a second means in ski racing. "Today was really crazy. It was a fight. I had a mistake and I knew I just had to keep going, going, going, Shiffrin said.
