Christmas is finally here. Let it be the beginning of peace to all people in all the world.
This blog is a little late. Blame the holiday rush, blame the new Weeby Drag and Drop design, but don't blame me. I wrote about the sad news of Claire's death and the waste of two young and promising lives. Somehow, someway, that blog ended up in drafts.

Excerpt from Murder in the Rockies
“And what hanging would that be?”
“That horrid Conway chap what murdered Mr. Defler. I
heard he decapitated Mr. Defler. Lopped the head clean off he
did and left it on a fence post next to the road for everyone to
see. That’s what everyone is saying. Myself, I don’t care to watch
a lynchin’, but when the law officers conduct a lawful and proper
hangin’ it’s much more civilized,” she said.
Before Coyle could answer, the infant in the pram started
crying. The nanny fussed with the baby, and at the same time,
she looked over her shoulder to the street. “Willy, I told you to
stay away from those horse apples. Now look at you, Wilford
Foster Mosely and your brand new sailor suit. Shame on you!”
Walking away, Coyle looked out of the corner of his eye and
saw the nanny clutching the baby in one arm, and with the other
hand, seizing Wilford by an ear.
As Coyle continued his walking tour, he contemplated society
women sipping tea in the parlor while mayhem in a downtown
saloon ended with a man being
murdered. Denver, after all, was transitioning from a mining
camp to a big city, and elements of both coexisted.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!
