In last week's blog I mentioned that the Colorado State Flower is the Columbine. For those who asked, here is a picture of Columbines. These beautiful flowers grow high in the mountains and bloom in the spring. The Columbine flower (Colorado Blue Columbine) was designated as the Colorado state flower in April, 1899.
Murder in the Rockies is set in 1893 and the new Andrew Coyle mystery (coming soon) is Two Miles High and Six Feet Under set in 1896. The Columbine has been the official state flower for quite some time.
